Located in the village of Villalba de Duero in the Ribera del Duero appellation, the expertise at Bela is fouced on bringing their Riojan elegance to the rugged region.
The winery was built in 1999 with the adjancent 185 acres of vineyards of 185 planted in 2002 at an altitude of 2674 feet above sea level in soil that is mostly calcerous clay and sand.
"Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins with a beautiful tannin and fruit combination that leaves delicious, fresh fruit and nuttiness on the aftertaste."
Bela is produced from selected grapes manually harvested from our own vineyards.
Vinification is in stainless steel tanks, followed by 6 months in American and French new and one‐year old oak barrels.
We have classified the 2016 vintage as very good. A typically cold winter was followed by a very hot and dry spring, ending with rain that brought on a summer of cool nights . Harvest was thankfully uneventful, yielding healthy fruit with marked colour and floral aromas.
