Family‐owned Graham Beck sparkling wines are 100% Méthode Cap Classique which is the South African term for méthode champenoise. The Brut NV spends a minimum of two years bottle aging on the lees before disgorgement and is 100% hand-harvested estate Pinot Noir & Chardonnay.

The Brut NV is an iconic wine in South Africa and abroad. This is the wine which was served at Nelson Mandela’s historic presidential inauguration. It is also favored by the Obamas who selected it to toast his election as president of the United States.

Graham Beck’s Robertson estate, Madeba, is situated in the breathtaking Breede River Valley bordering the semi-arid Little Karoo region. The farm is located on the famous Route 62, a meandering country road which takes visitors on an unforgettable tour of the region’s plentiful attractions. At the Robertson cellar, Graham Beck focuses on minimal intervention, allowing the authentic essence of the fruit and terroir to shine through in the final wine.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Bright lime green colour with rich aromas of fresh lime and ripe apricot fruit on the nose. An exciting fine mousse with an explosion of tangerines on the palate. Great brioche and yeast complexity broaden the palate, leading to a long, elegant finish.
Vineyard Notes
The fruit for this wine was hand selected, specific Chardonnay Clones, from the limestone vineyards on our Robertson Estate. These Vineyards have high natural lime content in the soil, which ensures a low pH and high natural acidity in the young base wine. Yield was between 8-10 ton/ha.
Winemaker Notes
The Blanc de Blancs remains one of our stalwart favourites, a darling amongst our legion of bubbly fans and testimony to the outstanding Méthode Cap Classiqu terrior characteristics of our Robertson estate. Only the highest quality juice (tête de cuveé) was selected for fermentation.
Food Pairing Notes
It’s not just for special occasions anymore: try it with fatty foods such as triple crème cheeses (Brie), shrimp, shellfish, salmon, caviar, fried calamari, salami and if you want to feel really decadent? Whip up a batch of heavily buttered popped corn.
